A lecture was taken regarding the Unit Penyiasatan dan Pendakwaan by PPKP Rafidi. He has highlighted a few aspects. Firstly, this unit charges people if they do not follow the law which is related to health. There are 4 laws which this unit goes by, they are

• Food act 1983
• Kawalan hasil tembakau
• Akta pemusnahan seranga pembawa penyakit 1975
• Akta pengawalan dan pencegahan penyakit berjangkit 1988

Explanation of the laws above -

Food act 1983

• Mainly regarding food outlets, other places which sell food items and food manufacturers. Usually compounded if the food has expired, improper labels and if the food sold is causing disease.

Kawalan hasil tembakau(TPHT)

• Mainly applies to those selling tobacco. People whom do not display “No smoking below 18” sign.

Akta pemusnahan seranga pembawa penyakit 1975

• This law charges those with larvae growing in their premise.

Akta pengawalan dan pencegahan penyakit berjangkit(APPPB) 1988

• Communicable disease control
• This law applies for many parties. Doctors can be charged if they fail to notify authority various infectious diseases.

Each person in this unit is given an authority card which allows them execute their power. There are the 3 people PPKPK, PPKP and PKA. He also explained some procedure in the court.
