FOOD UNIT

Leader of Group B arranged an extra activity for the group. The activity was visiting a malnourished child. (KZM, kurang zat makanan).

We assembled at 3pm in Klinik Kesihatan Bedong. Under the guidance of a staff nurse from KK Bedong, we then visited the child in Bedong. The child is an Indian male, 5-year-old cerebral palsy patient. His father is a worker in a palm oil field and his mother is a housewife. Monthly income of the household is RM 200. The family also receives help from relatives sometimes. The child receives Food Basket from time to time and is followed up by the nurses from KK Bedong.

We observed how the staff nurse interviewed the mother regarding, the current condition of the child, eating habits of the child and diet of the child. Permission was granted by the mother to have a look around the house and taking photos.

The visit ended at 4pm.
